O museu Van Gogh anunciou uma nova descoberta esta semana.
Um dos auto-retratos de Vincent Van Gogh parece ser na verdade um portret de seu irmão Theo.
Até hoje estudiosos se perguntavam porque Vincent nunca havia pintado seu irmão, que além de apoiá-lo financeiramente negociava seus quadros.
As semelhanças físicas entre os dois irmão já era conhecida mas agora as diferenças foram o ponto de referência para distinguir o auto-retrato do portret.

The Van Gogh Museum announced this week a new finding.
One of the self-portraits of Vincent Van Gogh seems to be acctually a portret of his brother Theo.
So far researchers wondered why Vincent had never painted his brother, who supported him financially and also negotiated all his paintings.
The physical similarities between the two brothers was already known but now were the differences the point of reference to distinguish the self-portret from the portret.

Parafraseando Vermeer ela recebeu um prêmio num dos maiores concursos de fotografia da Europa, PX3 de Paris, com uma série chamada ‘Strangers’.

I’m very proud of my friend Simone Strijk.
By paraphrasing Vermeer she received a prize in one of the biggest photo contest of Europe, PX3 Paris, with a series called ‘Strangers’.

Autismo

O desenho acima é de David, um garoto de 13 anos nascido em Rotterdam e que tem a sindrôme de Asperger, uma forma de autismo.
Selecionado para participar do livro ‘Drawing Autism’ publicado em 2009 em NY, o desenho apresenta 397 espécies diferentes de pássaros.
David sabe o nome da maioria das espécies desenhadas, inclusive em latim.
Ele contou numa entrevista ao programa da TV holandesa Pauw & Witteman um pouco sobre sua sindrôme e revelou querer ser ilustrador quando crescer.
Eu acho que só falta ele crescer, pois ilustrador ele já é!

The Drawing above is of David, a 13 year old boy born in Rotterdam that has the Asperger syndrome, a form of autism.
Selected to get in the book ‘Drawing Autism’, published in 2009 in NY, this draw features 397 different species of birds.

David knows most of the names of the drawn species, even in Latin.
He told in an interview to the dutch TV program Pauw & Witteman a bit about his syndrome and said that when he grow up he wants to be an ilustrator.
Well, I think he only needs now to grow. An ilustrator he already is!

Pérolas

Estou voltando, aos poucos porque estou muito enferrujada.
Tive mil idéias de post legais e no fim só fiquei com essa que não me sai da cabeça.
Na verdade quem me assoprou essa pérola foi o meu amigo Zefe (de novo).
Então vou voltar devagarzinho mas em grande estilo, inaugurando nova seção:
Pérolas!

Slowly, slowly I’m coming back. God, I’m totally out of shape.
I had thousand ideas of brilliant posts but in the end I’ve been left only with this one.
That by the way was not even my idea (it was a tip from my friend Zefe, again…) And that by the way, I can’t take out of my head.

Ando ausente, eu sei…
Mas estou fazendo muitas coisas com minha família.
Meus pais estão nos visitando e tenho ficado todo o tempo que posso com eles, com meu filho e meu marido.
Acredito que a relação entre pais e filhos é a experiência de amor mais profunda que vivemos.
O resto é a estoria de vida de cada um.

I’ve been away, I know…
But I have been a lot with my family.
My parents are visiting us and I’m spending all the time I can with them, my son and my husband.
I believe that the relationship between parents and children is the most profound experience of love that we can have.
The rest is the life story of each one.

Mudanças / Changes

O Saia mudou! Não porque eu quis mas porque eu não consigo mais voltar ao meu layout original.
Fiquei louca da vida, perdi 2 dias em forum de discussões até que resolvi abandonar o rigor, aceitar o que é possível neste momento e voltar a pensar em conteúdos e não mais em formas.
O Saia vai ficar com essa cara até eu ter coragem de continuar lendo sobre formatações em htmls e como reformatar toda essa linguagem abracadabra.

The blog has changed! Not because I wanted but because I can not go back to the original layout.
I went crazy, lost 2 days in discussions forum until I decided to abandon the rigor, to accept what is possible now and go back to the contents of my blog and not into the form anymore.
Saia is going to stay like this for a while. Until I have courage enough to read al those htmls formatting discussions again and dive into the abracadabra world.

Santos

Eu morei quase a minha vida toda em SP mas eu nasci em Santos.
Em julho vou para o Brasil e meu pai disse que gostaria muito de passar uns dias conosco na nossa cidade natal.
A última vez que estive na baixada fazem tantos anos que nem sei mais. Só me lembro o motivo que me levou até lá: levar meu pai no Santos Futebol Clube para receber uma homenagem.
Mas gostei da idéia de voltar. E dessa vez quero visitar o Museu de Arte Moderna que foi inaugurado no final do ano passado.
Projeto do Paulo Mendes da Rocha e do escritório Metro, o prédio que fica ao lado da Pinacoteca Benedito Calixto, tem duas lajes de concreto paralelas ligadas por treliças metálicas e suspensas por pilares.
Viva o Brutalismo. Vou me embora para Santos…

I lived almos my entire life in SP but I was born in Santos.
In july we are going to Brazil and my father said he would like to take us there: You must see te city Patricia, he said.
Last time I did was so long ago that I have no idea wich year it was. I only remember the reason that brought me there: Take my father to Santos Footbal Club to receive a tribute.
So I agree with him, we are going to visit Santos and this time I will also go to the new Museum of Modern Art wich was opened in the end of last year.
The project of Paulo Mendes da Rocha and the office Metro is a building suspended by steel beams that has been intgrated into the existing art gallery Bendito Calixto.
The structure wich is all-metal consists of two walls connected with a metal trusses supported on pillars.
Long live the Brutalismo. I’m going to Santos…

Criolo Doido

Eu não gosto muito de rap, o único cd de rap que comprei na vida foi o dos Racionais, Sobrevivendo no Inferno.
Confesso que ouvi tanto esse cd que até sei cantar algumas músicas de cor. E eu nem gosto muito de rap.
Mas aí me deparei com um Criolo Doido.
Veja bem, eu moro a 8 anos fora do Brasil, estou totalmente desatualizada. Não conheço mais as gírias nem as modas. Não leio as notícias nem mais na internet.
Mas ai eu ouvi o Criolo Doido falar.
Eu vi e ouvi várias entrevistas dele no Youtube e não acreditei na tamanha lucidez e profundidade que ele esbanja sem esnobismo nem arrogância.
Fiquei maluca por esse tal Criolo que de Doido só tem o nome.

O Criolo foi o segundo presente que ganhei da Isabela.
