Fim de agosto fui no meu festival de música favorito aqui na Holanda: Low Lands.
Eu ja escrevi um post enorme falando sobre o festival antes, da uma olhada no link.
Esse ano eu vi alguns shows de bandas consagradas como Groove Armada, The Specials, Snow Patrol, Massive Attack, Air e tive o prazer de ouvir de novo o islandês Sigur Rós, dessa vez com uma formação meio orquestral chamada Jónsi, e de dançar novamente com o animado duo britânico The Ting Thing.
Mas também descobri algumas coisas novas. Quero dizer, novas para mim…
A banda novaiorquina LCD Soundsystem e sua performance dance punk foram a minha melhor surpresa do festival.
Mas também adorei descobrir o pop eletrônico do Hot Chip, o beat meio oitentinha do Yeasaver a melancolia musical dos The Nacional e o swing incrível de um banda africana formada por paraplégicos. Uma estória triste que eles transformaram numa grande festa. A sensação da ‘world music’do momento. Staff Benda Bilili.

End of august I went to my favorite music festival here in Hollanda: Low Lands.

This year I saw some shows of consecrated famous bands like Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Air, The Specials, Snow Patrol but I also had the pleasure to hear again the icelandic Sigur Rós, this time with a more orchestral band called Jónsi, and to dance once more with the cheerful brit duo The Ting Thing.
And of course I discovered new things…I mean, new to me.
The new yorker band LCD Soundsystem and their dance punk performance was in my opinion the best surprise of the festival.
I also enjoyed the eletronic pop of Hot Chip, the eighties beat of Yeasaver and the melancholy songs of The National and the incredible swing of an african band made only by paraplegics. A sad story that they manage to transform into a big party. The ‘worldmusic’ sensation of the moment, Staff Benda Bilili.
