Itamar

Me apaixonei na mesma hora.

Funny but last week when I was at Seu Jorge’s concert I couldn’t stop thinking of Itamar Assumpção.
Today I got some photos of another great show that happened in São Paulo. The Orquídeas (Orchids), dear friends, adorable girls.
They were in the last band formation of Itamar and now they still playing his music.
When it comes to 80s brazilian music, everybody remember the new rock bands who scored one hit after another. Yah but there were more things moving around in the nights of São Paulo...
This concert at the Funarte theater in 1983 was amazing. I was there, I was very young and had never seem something so modern, intelligent and different before.
I feel in love right away and I never forgot it.

Seu Jorge, I want to rock with you all night

This week I went to see Seu Jorge at Paradiso, Amsterdam.

If you were there you know what I mean…

Heaven & Hell / O céu e o inferno

Since our rabbit died my son has talked a lot about God, death and what happens after we all die.
The other day he told me he doesn’t like God anymore becouse he is mean.
When I asked why, he told me that a friend at school told him that God is the one that decides whether we will die or not. His conclusion: 'God likes to kill people. God is bad! And by the way he killed our rabbit!'.
Well, I tried to explain that the rabbit died because he was sick, but my son seems to be more relieved with his own conclusion…
In our last conversation he asked me: ‘mam what is actually the hell?’
What is trick about this whole situation is not only to answer this soort of thing to a 6 years old boy but to answer this also to yourself.
Meanwhile I saw in another blog a video installation of the artist Marco Brambilla about hell and heaven.
The video is showed in the elevator of The Standart Hotel in NYC while the guests go up and down here in earth.

X+L studio

Together since 1987 the amsterdam-based duo formed the X+L Studio, founded in 1996 and focused on interior design.
Every now and then they create single objects and small series of products in limited editions that disappear in the hands, or rather, in the houses of some lucky ones…
Their website is not an exception, looks very good and it worth a visit.

Holstee Manifesto

After a few difficult days I feel happier in this monday morning.
Nothing like a sunny weekend with friends to recover.
I think I ever got an email with this text once, but today was very nice to read it again.
Have a nice Monday!

Moreno

Moreno,
Vou sentir saudades.

Moreno,
Like Alice said, you became a rabbit-shaped cloud.
I will miss you.

Gone with the wind / E o vento levou

Durante o ‘London Design Festival’, Paul Cocksedge montou esta instalação no corredor do Victoria&Albert Museum em Londres.
Fui conferir o site dele e amei.

During the ‘London Design Festival', Paul Cocksedge presented this installation in the hallway at the Victoria&Albert Museum in London.
I was checking out his website and it worth a visit.
The shopwindow that he did for the brand Hermès is beautiful and the installation called Kiss, presented in Milan, is amazing.
Don’t miss it.
